eDharma – Opening the Doors to the Dharma
We have chosen a thematic approach to study the teachings of the Buddha and the first theme is Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Over the course of the program, you will receive recommended study materials that will always include readings and practice suggestions, and sometimes, specific additional topics such as visualization, mantra, and sacred art. We will first discuss how to approach a study of the Dharma as it may differ from the way you have become accustomed to engaging in discipline.
The first theme is The Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, consisting of ten weekly lessons by email, the first three lessons are dedicated to the Buddha, the next four to The Dharma, then two lessons on The Sangha and this course conclude with one lesson on Taking Refuge.
Each lesson has a study and practice section, using Dharma Publishing materials, both classical and contemporary, as well as introductions by senior teachers; instructions on art, visualization and mantra may also be included. We recommend that you study and practice every day for a total of about six hours per week.
